Each Order has their own expertise and way of fighting, and will pick up / lose traits as the game goes on.
GriffonsThe Griffons pride themselves on their versatility in battle, being able to call on a wide range of skills but not truly being masters of any particular set.
Traits
King's Guard : Knights of the Griffon may be armed in the King's presence.
King's Commanders : Knights of the Griffon carry the rank of "Captain" in the Royal Pendor Army.
Siege Competence : Griffons have free access to the Academy of Siege Warfare. This reduces casualties in sieges.
Shadow LegionThe Shadow Legion are at their heart a unit of highly disciplined heavy infantry, however they also have a corps of "Centurions" who ride fearsome Ironbred Warhorses, and function more like mounted infantry than true cavalry.
Traits
Throw and Charge : Throw javelins into the enemy, followed by a charge. Breaks enemy formations and causes enemy discipline loss
Dragoons (Centurions) : Centurions are highly adept at riding to a battle site, dismounting and then fighting on, on foot. Horses will not leave the area, and dismounting is near instant.
Ironbred Warhorses : Ironbred horses are tougher and more aggressive than normal horses granting a charge bonus and being harder to kill.
SilvermistsThe Silvermist Rangers are undisputed masters of the bow, thanks to their links to the Noldor. They have also recently merged with the Clarion Call giving them a corps of highly skilled heavy horse-archers.
Traits
Fleet of Foot : All Silvermists are fleet of foot, and move far more quickly on foot.
Scouts (Rangers) : The Rangers are trained in stealth techniques, and are able to move about in forests almost invisibly.
Infiltrate (Rangers) : Rangers may move about the battlefield with a reduced change of detection.
Marksmen (Rangers) : The Rangers have a far greater range than that of normal archers.
Fire and Charge (Mtd Rangers) : The Clarion Call are able to unleash a volley of arrows on the charge to cause disruption in enemy lines and then charge home with spear and sword.
DawnThe Order of Dawn are masters of mounted warfare, being the epitome of heavy cavalry. Their Order has managed to equip their retainers better than is the norm thanks to their great wealth.
Traits
Open Field Manoeuvres : Very skilled at high speed mounted manoeuvres
Deadly Charge : Very powerful charge
Destriers : Dawn warhorses also fight alongside their riders using both their teeth and hooves.
Will of Astraea : If the Dawn flee from battle, their commanders can call on the will of Astraea and immediately rally any troops around them.
Lance Formation : Dawn riders are so well trained that they can form a wedge while moving at any speed, this is very likely to crush enemy formations.
GauntletsThe Knights of the Gauntlet are very hardy heavy infantry trained in both sword and crossbow. So armed, they are masters of urban warfare, trained to defeat the Noldor whenever they threaten the homes of humanity.
Traits
Urban Warfare : Reduced casualties in towns, slightly reduced in sieges.
Advance Under Fire : The Gauntlets have learned how to continue to advance even under heavy archer fire. So long as movement is no faster than at a walk, they will take minimal casualties when actively defending against ranged attacks (note this will make vulnerable to melee / charges).
An Undisclosed Bonus.
EventideThe Knights of the Eventide share many of the qualities of the Dawn, but have honed their particular skills to defeat their knightly nemesis on their field of battle, using blunt weapons in preference to bladed ones.
Traits
Open Field Manoeuvres : Very skilled at high speed mounted manoeuvres
Knightly Killers : Bonus against armoured targets
Zealots : Commanders of the Eventide can choose to rouse their troops to fight to the death, resulting in a significant boost to morale.
Intimidate : Knights of the Eventide are very, very good at scaring people. They can choose to intimidate their foes which will seriously dampen the spirits of their foes.
Desert Acclimatised : Eventide suffer fewer penalties for being heavily armoured in the desert.
DragonsThe Order of the Dragon is one of the most famous throughout Pendor, known for their stalwart defence of the people of Ravenstern together with their fiery pride and rugged constitution.
Traits
Stubborn : The word retreat does not appear in the vocabulary for the saviours of Rane and they would sooner die than take a single backward step. Bonus to morale.
Dragon's Pride: When fighting against those they feel have insulted them, the Dragon Knights fight even harder than usual. General combat bonuses depending on level of insult.
Saviours of Rane : When defending the walls of their beloved city, those with Dragon blood in them would die before a single enemy sets foot over the battlements. Unbreakable when defending Rane.
Hardy : The Dragons are renowned throughout Pendor for their constitution, both in battle and in the bar. Additional toughness.
Used to Snow : The Dragons suffer no penalties when fighting in the snow.
Dragon Destrier (Knights) : Specially reared horses are larger than the usual warhorses, specifically bred to survive the harsh Ravenstern winters. The mounts are as tough and rugged as their riders.
