Woah. You totally got me with that compliment, thaaaaaank you very much!
Those graphics... I want...so bad...
And about the Bishop, I believe that he will get in the story soon too, maybe a main villain in Vinland 2?
You know, a Papal army of ships and boats versus this one crazy viking, his hammers and cocktails and etc.
I'm having cold btw.
EDIT -
My friend, one of those mature and great people I know, loved the game when I showed it to him! He instantly came up with a suggestion:
He thinks that you should develop the point system a bit; for example -1 points for not hitting anything, and 2 points for hitting or breaking an object. 1 point for hitting, 1+2=3 points for breaking? This could add a lot more depth and strategy in the game and I liked the idea. What do you think?

It's great to see you on your way. Hopefully you'll become a large, amazing, and fun development studio. Kickstarter shows that the players can have say in games, and indie gamers can produce what they want, and I believe it really is all an indie gamer/studio needs to see their dreams realized.
Most importantly, have fun with it!
On a side note, has your book been released yet? I've googled and I cannot find a copy/distributor of your Vinland: Revelations.

Something of a break through, we discovered a very good archive of free tracks, so each mission will now have its own music track (if you get the download version, browser version will be far more restricted due to file size limitations).

The story of one of the most incredible adventures in history is about to make its way to the digital platform on Monday the 23rd of April. Join Leif Erikson, the Viking explorer credited with being the first European in America, on his extraordinary voyage of discovery.
Face a multitude of dangers on the high seas, including villainous bishops, wild witches, the restless dead and of course tonnes, and tonnes of ice bergs. To aid you against these challenges, you can enlist a group of Norse heroes, men and women able to instil new abilities and powers on your ships. Choose from a wide range of different weapons and vessels in order to be best equipped to overcome all that stands in your way to Vinland!
Zatobo are so excited at the moment to be so close to finishing the game we have been slaving over for the past couple of months. What started out as a brief email exchange between modders has evolved into something special here, and we are thrilled to finally be able to show it off properly to the world. The pressure is on to get everything in place now for the big day, but we are confident that everything will be ready.
We will be announcing more over the coming days, including where you will be able to get the game. In the meantime, enjoy the release trailer we have just launched and we hope to see you in Vinland soon!

Zatobo Games are very pleased to announce that Vinland: Arctic Assault has been released to the public. You can get it by visiting our website, http://zatobo.com/. Or just follow this link right to the store.
There is also a demo of the game available on the website, just follow the Demo! link. You can either download a version, or try it in your browser.
Vinland: Arctic Assault is a game in which you take the role of Leif Erikson on his famous voyage into the unknown, which would culminate in the discovery of America, known to the Vikings as the mystical land of Vinland. You must guide his intrepid crew from the safety of foster-father in Norway, through Iceland and Greenland, across the dangers of the Northern Atlantic and finally to the Americas themselves.
The storyline is written by author, Gareth L. B. Kay and introduces a number of characters which will feature in the forthcoming Vinland: Revelations novel. These heroes can be recruited to assist Leif in his journey, each adding their particular skills to his efforts. You will also be able to pick up a wide range of different weapons, and select from three different classes of ship to customise the experience to your particular preferences and play-style.
Along the way you will have to defeat nefarious bishops, wild witches and of course waves and waves of ice, all the while working to overcome the best efforts of the elements themselves in the form of storms, fog and even blizzards and avalanches.
We are currently exploring further distribution methods including Wooglie.com and Kongregate, plus we are in talks with Desura and will be investigating release on Steam shortly, so stay tuned about getting the game through your favourite channels!
We'll keep you informed Most likely will be Desura next then we'll go after Steam. Bear in mind however that all of those services take a cut, while if you get it direct from our site we get the full amount, which we can then invest into Vinland 2.

Yes, I've been following Kickstarters quite closely, and now that they are available in the UK might actually be in a position to do something with it. We probably won't be offering up anything particular this year, but hopefully next we will be ready enough with a new project to begin financing it through that system.
As to the modding aspects of the article; obviously with our roots in it, we are going to be as open to it as possible. Although not much can be done with Vinland: Arctic Assault (we were simply too inexperienced to really open it up as would be needed), we have learned from it and now know how to open various systems to the modder, for instance using excel and .csv files to input data into the script. This basically means that people can use excel to create / edit particular stats (so imagine in an RPG, you could define that a character gets 1,000 hit points a level instead of 8, or even create whole new classes), and then spit out a file that the code can read.

Kickstarter is interesting. What I meant, however, was the PC vs. console anaylsis that the author makes. It was somewhat enlightening, since it gives good reasons for some things I have been noticing in recent games.

Oh yeah, that has been fairly evident for some time. One statistic which really made me laugh (not in that article, I read it some time ago), is that because Steam doesn't publish their accounts there were no official sales figures for digital downloads. Therefore, publishers were simply ignoring them and missing out on about 50% of the PC market.
My respect for publishers is about this much --><--

There was a little anecdote one of the self-publishing devs told a while back. They were being pulled off the shelves in GAME or somewhere, and called up to get an explanation. The manager told him that there was no demand for the game.
The response? "In the five minutes we have been on the phone for, I have sold 50 copies on steam."

Oh good grief don't get me started on GAME. It's the one and only job interview that I have actually walked out of.
