This thread will maintain the current number of units in the Shadow Legion.

I will also conduct how many units go here and there if presented in the RP. And if units are killed I will conduct the losses here. (Maybe a memorial list of those who all fall, with their names of course )

Just a question: I've sent 50 legionaries, 50 retainers and 1 centurion to Ishkoman, and twenty legionaries and two centurions to villages of Almerra and Calendain.

So i have 32 centurions, 111 legionaries and 114 retainers now.

Ill fix it up when I get to a computer tomorrow. I've been doing alot on my phone

Troop number update after getting all the recruitments and promotions straight as well as sending idle legionnaires back to service:

For the event there are
36 centurions
199 legionnaires and
150 retainers
available.

1 centurion and 104 retainers are out on missions elsewhere.

Update on troop numbers in accordance with MM:

Reinforcements arrive at Marcus's position at the beach but report that a large part, mainly retainers, have deserted the camp last night.
The troops within the walls of Cez have ceased to answer to the command post at the beach.
The centurions at the beach report that there are now 30 centurions, 150 legionnaires and 50 retainers.

Furthermore the newly arriving troops report that a stockade has been constructed near Cez.

2 centurions, 10 legionnaires and 20 retainers are with Centurio Meraxes.
40 Immortals accompany Sir Mitchell.

35 Silvermist rangers are stationed in the woods with Cpt. Theo of Janos.
100 Silvermist rangers arrive from the North, reporting for duty to Cpt. Theo of Janos.
5 mounted rangers are on scout patrol around Cez.
15 Silvermist rangers and 15 mounted rangers are at Cez, commanded by the second brigadier.

Ok do I have to change my posts then to take all this troops into account? Are these Immortals right now with MM? If so I really have to change my post. I don't think that all this troops can run as fast as a horse. Are all my troops (2 centurions, 10 legionnaires and 20 retainers) with my right now.?

That's for MM to decide. I just gave you the basic information as discussed with him.

Can I propose a new unit here?

Shadow Legion is close to the sea - and there's got to be a lot of fishermen around. Fishermen have a number of deadly weapons - for example the trident, which works like the spear. Most fishermen have a lot of experience with the trident, and therefore they probably also are a lot more skilled in the use of a spear than a regular peasant would. With proper training, these men could become professional troops...

Legion Pikemen.

Armed with long pikes and short-swords, carrying relatively light armour(padded leather with light mail/ just some hard leather?), these men form the basic defensive line in the Legion's defense.

Sounds cool. Will they have those 3 meter-long pikes? They would also be more familiar with the sea and a fine addition to your navy: Legion Marines.

That's because they ARE awesome

We even spent one of their extra skill points on discipline so they can better fight alongside your legionnaires.

Ask Mordred for the fishermen. We probably won't be seeing them in this event though...

Legion Marines sound better, actually. They could be used in naval warfare, those pikes poking the men in other ships.

I'll change the name to Legion Marines.

Not only poke from afar. They could also use their long pikes in a combined effort to push away the other ship and prevent theirs of being boarded, thus allowing your legionnaires to javelineer the enemy safely from behind. I'm looking forward to see how they work out for you.




By the way, I’ve just invented a verb: to pike, poke, poken.

Reinforcements as ordered by last Sunday:

40 Mounted Rangers arrive from the north.

1 centurion, 12 legionnaires and 67 retainers arrive from Westwatch Castle (I presume, as the reinforcements before did so, too).

All right, I will make them die horribly arrive in position.

By orders of tomorrow (Apr 15) the following reinforcements will arrive:

100 sword and board militia from the Legion's castles further inland.

An army under the command of Lady Laisha, comprised of 10 Mounted Rangers, 500 halberdiers, 600 militia archers, 400 militia spearmen and baggage horses with preassembled parts of ballistae and waxed cloth to make rain shelters for the field artillery.

I hope you don't mind that the SM-army will arrive much later? It is a slow progress with such numbers.

Don't make it too long. They're not meant to act like the reinforcements at Stormcliff Cove whose arrival was basically the end of the battle, i.e. there we just fought with our inferior numbers hoping to hold out until the reinforcements arrived. This time the reinforcements should actually arrive early enough to take part in the actual fighting. On the meta-level we also need to practice commanding large armies in a reasonable way. I'd be fine with something like another week until they arrive.

No worries, Laria isn't that far away and Silvermists are fast on foot.

But mind your that apart from the 10 Clarion knights, the silvermist army is composed of non-order troops and don't benefit of their quickness bonus.
