Sir Arceon and Mattias ride until they finally come across "Baliza de Alba", the Dawn base of power in the region. It was a wooden post, a patrol hub and command center for any Dawn operations in the region.

They are let inside by the militiamen already there, and are led to the commander of the fort, Knight-Captain Rineheart

He was staring at a map of the Fierdsvain, surrounded by several knights and squires. On the map were multiple figures and patrol paths.

Rineheart came over and greeted the knights vigorously with a handshake.

"Welcome gentlemen, I trust that Aranor will be sending reinforcements?"

"Aye, I will be leading a company of light cavalry. The extra speed might just give us the advantage over the Vanskerry. For now, though, I need to prepare. Do you happen to have any detailed maps of the area?

"Maps? Hmm.. I have the maps useful to me, but since your going to be out in the field, I suggest you go to the market towns around here. Skip ruvar, the vanskerries wont go that far. Go to Tyra and Jayek. I have some grain in the warehouse here, go ahead and take some and deal with the elders."

"Oh, and make sure to check on Jayek's defensive level. They are smack dab on the coast, and most likely will be a prime target. Luckily, this time around they wont be able to use Mistrock as a landing pad to launch attacks from so it wont be as hard as it was that time 3 years ago."

"Ill also suggest checking in with the priests in the towns, and making sure they are using the money we sent out to give to charity and such. I'll be contacting the bishop in the region."

"My thanks, may Astrea be with us." Arceon nodded to the commander and then begin the short journey to Jayek.

On arrival to Jayek Arceon headed to the market district. The market was filled with the sounds of haggling and the smells of exotic food and spices that could only be found in a market so close to the ocean. Unfortunately, such an atmosphere also encouraged a few unwanted things as well. Within the 5 minutes that Arceon and Mattias where there they had already witnessed what looked like some sketchy black market deals. And now a unscrupulous man was walking up to them.
"Hello travelers, would you like to buy some of these gems I have brought all the way from Ravenstern." said the man who then proceeded to pull out of his coat pocket fake looking gems.
"Those are a fake!" Mattais yelled.
"Do not worry Mattais I will take ca-" Began Arceon when a nearby man yelled.
"What the! He stole my wallet!" The man screamed pointing at a another man as he ran away into the crowd.
When Arceon turned back to face the man he found he was gone and had ran off into the crowd as well. Of course, they were accomplices!
"Do not worry sir we are servants of Astrea, we will get your money back! Part ways, we need to catch those thieves!" Arceon said to the man and then to the crowd.
When a pathway had been cleared the two knights of the Dawn set off to catch the thieves.

Sir Rineheart took a small escort with him to Ironoak castle.

As he rode up to it, he yelled in a loud voice

"We need to speak with the Bishop! Official Church Business!"

The gate opened and Sir Rineheart was hurried inside along with his men, who were taken off to the side. The Bishop, a small man entering the later stages of life, appeared at one end of the courtyard and beckoned Rineheart over.

Sir Rineheart went over to the aging bishop and got on one knee

"Your Excellency, I have come today to inquire on the situation in the diocese."

He looks up to the bishop, without getting off of his knee

"Have the gold chests been distributed across the county? And.. how is the.."

he speaks in a lower voice

"How is the count?"

The Dawnites sprinted after the thief, the crowd already parted before them as the criminal ran ahead, thankfully slowed by the press of citizenry. Reaching the edge of the market, the thief turned down an alleyway.

Do we follow? inquired Mattias.

The Bishop clasped Aranor's shoulder, and beckoned him to stand.

A few carts have gone out, but nothing substantial yet. We are all waiting to see where the oncoming burdens fall hardest. I am still unsure as of how to handle the situation. The recipients of the gold will all have different ideas as to what to do with it, and I cannot decide who is most deserving and responsible.

The Bishop's expression darkened slightly.

As for the Count, he does not show himself so much these days. When I see him for confession, he seems genuinely penitent, but nearly refuses to discuss... those events... I do not know whether he was taken in, or trying to reduce damage, but either way he has taken it hard.

"Aye, In Astrea's name we do. It's our duty to find and deal with those that would exploit others like this. Onward!"
They raced down the alley after the thieves and found a twisting alley system that seemed to be headed down into the sewers. The thieves disappeared down a sewer grate and the two knights stopped their horses just before the grate.
"We'll have to dismount" said the older knight,"Bring a torch with you, I have a feeling it will be dark."
The two grabbed their weapons and a torch each and opened up the sewer grate and jumped into the darkness. Once down they hefted their weapons off and began exploring the bleary sewer way. It was very cold and there was a constant drip off water. The noise also echoed to a deafening level causing the smallest rat to be thought of as the thieves.
"Let's check down this way for them. Mattias said as he pointed down a narrow sewer way that lead to a door.
"Ok sounds as good a way as any." Arceon agreed and headed towards the door.
Inside they found a large chamber. What was in the chamber was the important part. The thieves along with a 3 more were sitting around a brightly glowing campfire and surrounded with chests of what looked like their past catches.
Luckily for the Dawn knights the theives had their attantion occupied with counting the amount of gold they had just stolen and hadn't noticed them yet.
It was time for them to get noticed.
"Put the gold down, it is time for your sins to be paid for!" Arceon said as he and Mattias charged at the surprised thieves.

Sir Rineheart nodded

"Is he in the castle at the moment?"

One of the thieves immediately sprinted down a tunnel and disappeared into the gloom, while the others remained rooted in place, faces coloured with terror. The moment passed, and they reacted quickly.

There's only two of them, get them!

Three rushed forwards, short swords reflecting the campfire into an oddly beautiful scene for a life-or-death struggle. Mattias' first stroke bit deep into the first's shoulder and he cried out, falling to the floor writhing as the others quickly resized their opponents. It was too late, however, as the knights rammed into the thieves, driving them to the floor and winding them. Swords pressed to their throats, the men quickly surrendered and were tied up.

What now? Inquired Mattias.

"We will return the gold to it's owner and we will bring these thieves to the count, where he can do with them what he will. The theif that escaped, let him go. He will tell the rest of his underworld partners that we are here." Arceon said then the two set off.
