| Just saw the Hobbit and would like to know what you guys thought of it. I personally think that it adds perfectly to Tolkien's legacy and the fantasy world he left behind. | |

| Good movie but it feels like it has been extended a bit too much to make it a trilogy. | |

| The Hobbit isn't going to be a trilogy, it will be part 1 and part 2. This was part 1, correct me if I am wrong. | |

| Ah I see what you mean, i just looked it up. I thought it was just going to be 2 parts and that would have been perfect since they cut it almost halfway in the book. But they might add some extra stuff that wasn't in the book such as the council between Saruman, Gandalf, Elrond, and Galedrial in part 1. They also might expound more on the whole necromancer thing because that wasn't very well explained in the book. | |

| Yeah that was pretty much my favorite thing about the movie. Explaining what in the hell Gandalf was doing when he disappeared in the books. It was good overall though. | |

| lol I liked the part with the dwarves when they were throwing all the dishes and cleaning up. Thats what Bilbo Baggins hates! | |

| I loved everything, but the rabbits of Radagast (and the whole jokingly character) were a bit too much for my taste.
Especially since it's a children's book, I think they did a splendid job making the characters a bit more silly and the jokes more frequent than in lotr.
I'm curious though, because I hated Bilbo at the end of the book and I wonder if they will follow the book on that.

| I am insanely glad that we will get to see Gandalf (probably) having necromancer-related adventures, and it seems that the next 2 films will fit the LoTR mold of "slow first, fast 2/3" | |

| I'm going to see it today. The general consenses seems to be that critics thought it was a let down and that everyone else feels the critics are pillocks. | |

| I liked it, but something is wrong with it, although I don't know what it is. Perhaps it feels overly simplified and shallow - too hollywoody, or too much like a Zelda game. It's way better than many other movies, though, and I'm glad it was made.
Also: twilight knights.

| It was a good movie, im definately getting it on blu ray. But it im really wondering how the next two movies are going to pad it out. I think what your describing might have been the sort of "kiddyfying" of the movie if that makes sense. In LOTR the violence if far more visceral, in hobbit its much more lighthearted in places. | |

| Although the elven horse archers did impress me. During the 0.8 seconds in which they appeared. I hope they put them in the Battle of the Five Armies. - Quote :

I wonder how would Silmarillion be done.

I was actually disappointed in those riders from Imladris... the horses were fake, the entire thing looked computer generated. Most was computer generated, but these guys were just very badly done and It was the biggest let-down of the entire movie. wich means the rest was great and awesome.

| About the movie being to kiddy and lighthearted, the book was also lighthearted. Tolkien originally wrote it as a children's story, so the movie kinda reflected that. | |

The Silmarillion would be the most terrifying film in existence. Morgoth, Ungoliant, all the Balrogs. Eeep.

| Don't forget the epic awesome battles and the amazingly beautiful silmarils. The creation of Durin the immortal and well, the most perfect beings that unfortunately have the entire range of human emotion. (Elves :p ) | |

| Two words: Numenor and Akalabeth.
This is blockbuster stuff. I hope Peter Jackson doesn't burn out/get bored after the Hobbit.
