Reports
As many / all of the events occur behind closed doors, Grandmasters are asked to provide a report to the King following each event (Major and Minor). During Minor events, I would like the hosts to produce a set of rumours which can be true or false in the IC section of the tavern so that everyone can remain looped in.
Remember that reports do not need to include all details, or even be true. However, some Orders are sneaky and employ spies, there is a chance one of them will reveal any lies to their master. For the rumors you want the GMs to post up them or any knighthood members are free to post (w/ GMs approval of course)? Also, new thread or post 'em on the Groggy Griffin?

| My basic observations on how to tell a good story, and how to script your character: Engaging people in a scene - Spoiler:
- Solve the complication in your story with real life rules (i.e. you shoot the bandit) or by defeating an imaginary obstacle by its already pre-defined rules (vampires are killed by stake through heart)
- Use suddenly made up and conveniant events to heighten the tension in a scene, never, ever, in any fucking way, use a made up and conveniant event to solve the tension in a scene. Because then anything else you write no one will be envolved in it, because nothing your character will do will put you in risk, as something will come out of nowhere to save the day. I'll use docter who as an example (nerd five!)
Good: "Weeping angels", a monster that turns to stone when looked at, move when nothing watches them. So heroes gets into the Tardis and teleports as the angels surrounding it, oh noe!, the tardis isnt teleporting her with them, they'll kill her when it leaves! Tension is raised! then it dissapears and the threat is defeated because all the angels are stuck staring at eachother and cant move. tension solved!Bad: they are in pompay and have to blow up the volcano and kill the aliens in there and subsequently the 10'000 people below, or humanity will be destroyed. But if they do, the subsequent blast will kill them too, TENSE!!!! They decide to blow, BANG they shoot out in a never before mentioned escape pod, and leave completely safe and unharmed. Well wasnt that just fucking conveniant, why should i watch this shit when they pull that? Tension ruined
Making an interesting character - Spoiler:
Have a character who undergoes realistic change to the events he experiances, either making him worse or better after the event, but as long as he grows and changes his personality everyone will be engaged by the character. Have flawed characters, as we are flawed beings, no one will emotionally engage with an Aerian superman who solves anything and beats any challenge without any effort.
Good: Jeffy the knight goes off to war a happy, innocent and sprightly young man, however after seeing his friends cut down around him and then having to pace over the bloody battle field and put any slowly dying men out of thier misery, he deserts the army and returns home a broken man, his eyes are sunken and he never laughs again, one day he is found after he drank the courage to hang himself
Bad: Jeffy the knight goes off to war a happy, innocent and sprightly young man, however after seeing his friends cut down around him and then having to pace over the battle field and put any slowly dying men out of thier misery he returns home with his friends looted items in tow and the heads of all the men he killed, which he hangs on the wall then dances on the table whilst whisteling a merry tune

| In light of the throne room debate which is far more lively than anything we had in the last months I feel inclined to remind everyone of some guidelines in order to ensure a pleasant RP experience for everybody: (That I name things here does not mean someone did that, I'm doing this prophylactically)
Control only your own character. Do not write that things happen that your character has no influence in (such as "suddenly the great candelabra came down from the ceiling, killing Lucius Aurelianus instantly. Iskar chuckled at this, although he had had no part in it."), let alone controlling othere characters.
Write as much and only as much about your actions as the others would be able to see. Do not write down your thoughts for the others to read, because it takes some suspense out of the scene, but on the other hand, if you try to do something secretly, think about what the others would notice about it, i.e. a whisper, a light movement. You can (using common sense) take into account the general situation, however. During a heated debate the others might be rather unlikely to notice a quiet whisper at the other end of the room and their attention might be distracted. However, still write out what you're doing. Someone might just have prepared to overhear quiet conversations away from the debate.

| How do we handle descriptions of the environment? Should we leave it to the main characters in the event (for example, you and Caranthir in that throne room discussion; Marcus in the Cez event; Aranor in Javiksholm, etc.)? | |

| I guess the chairman of the throne room event (in this case us) or the lord of the location where something takes place can (to a reasonable extent) determine the furniture and layout of the rooms used/ the characteristics of the surroundings (if in the outside).
In any case one should make that sufficiently clear what the location looks like in an early post.
