Well men it looks like this fire isn't going to be worth the effort. Its better for our night vision to be in the dark anyway, say Sir Hugo.

Barricade the doors to the house and fort up in the main foyer it is pretty defensible. 1/2 shifts of 5 hours. The Harlequin should send men after us soon enough. Make sure those papers and armor pieces stay safe.

The Knights are undisturbed, and the night goes past, revealin the sunrise. The forest was green and beautiful again.

Early in the morning, they see a party emerging from the woods. Plate armour and heavy blunts, from afar they indeed looked like Ebony Gauntlets. But when they closed in, they appeared to wear some sort of a green platemail.

AWWWWWWW FUCKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!

Snake CULTISTS!!!!!! Men, get your crossbows and get ready for some killing.

booms Ser Hugo.

His men get in and "circle the wagons", prepared to make the manse a fortress.

Meanwhile,

The Harlequin was perturbed..... where was Ser Hugo he should have taken an hour tops.

"Ser Geoff, assemble the men we are going to break camp and go find our brothers."

The remainder of the party sends out scots ahead of it and quicktimes it to where rincas home is.

The green warriors, numbering around fifty, sent five men with their weapons put down and with a white flag to negotiate.

"Ebony Gauntletsss, we wish to negotiate with you on terms of an alliance for us both's benefits!"

The Cultist laughed.

"Very well! Deliver your own deaths. We will kill you on the spot."

Then they began raining crossbow fire on the ebony gauntlets. One bolt hit a knight on his arm, piercing the armour and wounding him. Meanwhile some cultist ran to the forests to gather some firewood.

Ser Hugo laughed...... he had invited the cultists to speak and all they did was attack *cough cough*

Fifty cultists versus fifteen of his men with the Harlequin hopefully on his way? This was going to be fun.......

"Sir Arack go retrieve me that set of armor that rinca was wearing, make sure to keep the body respectfully covered. Also make sure those notes of his are well protected and kept somewhere properly"

"Give the remainder of the armor we were able to collect to our remaining men.

Rinca's Valley - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Rinca's Valley   Rinca's Valley - Page 3 EmptyWed Oct 19, 2011 4:59 pm

Sir Arack found the platebody and the corpse. But then Arack gasped. For a moment it seemed like the corpse's ears were gazing at him, but it was probably just his imagination. But the old man's face had changed dramatically. Long, brown hair and a young, womanish face where the old man's face had been. Despite this, Sir Arack retrieved the armour. How strong and beautiful it was... how fine and flexible..

A thought hit Sir Arack. He put the armour on, enjoying every moment of it. Another thought hit him. He thought he had seen something very disturbing to his left. He turned. He saw the noldor body... but now, without armour, the body was covered with bloody holes. Sir Arack turned his head again, now gazing at his armour.

"Click."

He heard a sound from the armour. He tried to take it off, but failed. The armour had somehow locked around his waist. And he began to feel tingling on his skin. His eyes widened out. Soon, tens of tiny pikes pierced his skin, making it look like an explosion of blood and flesh, and Arack screamed.

Harlequin gathers his troops, and prepares to march in the forest. It is about time to get the heck out of this place.

Ser Hugo sees Ser Arack dead.....

"I knew there was something about that armor he mutters to himself...." "Nobody touch the armor or weapons or you will die."

With that he returned to the fight at hand.

"Give me suppressing fire from the windows, target the knights especially. You four guard the main entrance, dont allow the manse to be surrounded."

"When those bastards get back with fuel they are going to try to burn us out.... show them the error of their ways, have rugs ready to beat out any flames and water on hand."

The Harlequin meanwhile is marching through the forest at a very quick pace all of a sudden some of his more lightly armored scouts come rushing up.

"Grandmaster there are snake cultists assaulting our brethern at rinca's."

"Men, prepare yourselves we have foemen about....."

The men become even mroe vigilant and increase the distance between each in their wedge movements."

(I will let the battle progress a little more before the harlequin arrives)

PostSubject: Re: Rinca's Valley   Rinca's Valley - Page 3 EmptyThu Oct 27, 2011 3:31 pm

Soon, the cultists ran out of the forest with burning torches. They seemed to have cut off some thick branches and lit them up. They were roughly of any use, though, because the fire burned two of the torches down before the cultists even reached the house. Another two were shot by the Gauntlets, but one cultist with a torch survived to throw it. At the same time, one of the gauntlets got wounded to his chest by a piercing crossbow bolt, and then all the rest of the cultists(around 35 of them) charged to the entrance, with cobra knights leading the charge.

The Ebony Gauntlets defended the entrance fiercely, and managed to defend it with their heavy armour and shields. But all the time they became more and more exhausted.

Ser Hugo laughed,

"Ha men they merely have three to one odds and are attacking gauntlets dug in. Let's hope some remain for the harlequin to kill!!!" Ser Hugo leaves three of his men in the upper level to shoot down onto the cultists and leas the remainder of his men around seven to guard the entrance.

At this time the Harlequin appeared on the edge of the forest and let out a snort of derision.

"snake worshipping fools didnt even leave out security." "Men prepare for volley fire then charge. Try to get me a prisoner if you can."

His men line up i two ranks and prepare for a devastating volley of crossbow fire into the cultists backs before they charge.

(there are about 40 of them)

The bolts flew truely. Before the impact, a cultist had sighted the Harlequin's forces, but too late. Before he could shout, a bolt struck his head, launching him several meters backwards. The Cobra armour is good, but the bolts pierced it without problems. The bolts caused chaos among the cultists. Several men died before they could see what struck them, and several were crying of pain on the ground. When they saw eight more knights running out from the doorway, the cobra warriors screamed and charged at them, crazed from the fate of their brothers. But many of them were wounded, and although fanatical, they were killed. The few remaining cultists were crushed between Ser Hugo's and the Harlequin's troops.

The Harlequin reaches Ser Hugo and with a look of disgust kicks away a Snake Cultist who is clawing at his leg.

"Good thing we got here brother before all the killing was done."

He turns to the group as a whole and says,

"Give me 360 security we wont be snuck up on. You three perform EPW searches police up the dead collect their wounded. Set up an aid station take care of their wounded after our own."

"Ser Hugo bring me up to speed."

The first feeling after the joy of victory was confusion. Where had these warriors came from? Why were they there?

After the dead had been buried, the wounded cured and prisoners taken, the knights assessed their losses. Two dead knights, three wounded.

Police up the weapons and vital intelligence taken from Rinca's home. For God's sake stay away from that armor...... I knew we shouldn't trust that old bastard. Put the wounded on stretchers and put a guard on the prisoners. We will interrogate them when we return to Ethos.

We will be returning to the hospital. Watch yourselves we don't know what else is out here.

In Rinca's personal room there was an item laying on his bed with a letter on it.

It was an extraordinary hammer used for forging items of great quality. The letter said:

Quote :
"Thank you for your time. I killed one of your boys, and I heard another brother died after using my armour. My deepest regrets for that. I wished you wouldn't leave wihout a prize for your efforts. This hammer is a completely normal hammer, except that it is very powerful. Every item it creates will be slightly stronger than items created by normal hammers. I'll leave you to discuss that. -Rinca."

The Harlequin looks at the hammer with both interest and suspicion......

"Here i'll take it and hold onto it for now I don't want any more mishaps from this old bastard to get us."

After the house had been thoroughly searched and secured, the KotEG came out and organized into a wedge formation. They had found nothing but the hammer and a few scrolls written in some odd language the knights did not understand. The sun was shining and their armour was blazing, almost stunning the Harlequin as he walked out from the house to greet his knights. Finally they were ready to go.

Men, Assemble in travelling overwatch. Wounded to the center of the formation. Medics stay with the wounded. Everybody crossbows out and keep your eyes open I don't want any unwelcome surprises.

The Harlequin turns to two of his most trusted men,

"You boys carry that armor and those parchments. Don't try on the armor or play around with it and keep those papers safe. Mess this up and you could die."

The two men gulp and thank The Harlequin for placing his trust in them.

Alright men, move out.

They travel back to the hopsital with no issues along the road. When they arrive the Harlequin has them all bed down and rest after their exertions.
