| On the next morning, one of the Duke's pages brings a letter to Sir Orlando. The blond boy is shy and obviously nervous as Sir Orlando opens the door. “Good morning, Sir. I...uh...there is a letter for you.”The boy bows quickly, looking downwards, presenting the letter to Sir Orlando. The paper is cheap and dirty, smelling of fire and coal. Should Orlando choose to open it, he can read the following words in scribbled handwriting. - Spoiler:
Dear boy,
You did not think you could visit without me noticing, did you? I know you are just here to fulfil you duty and I would never ask anything of you that would interfere with that. Still, It would be good to see you.
Signed
your old friend, Tal'Digron

| Sir Orlando gives a welcoming smile to the young page, who seems quite nervous, then gestures for him to enter his chamber. He then opens the letter, and quickly reads it, his smile becoming more sincere. He then asks the page to wait a moment, while he quickly tries to find paper to put a reply letter together. After he finds paper, he doesn't even need a second thought, and suddenly writes out a reply to his old friend, Tal'Digron. - Spoiler:
Dear Tal'Digron,
I had not expected you to figure out of my being here, in Laria, though I do admit that I would have contacted you if I had found the time to meet you. It has been quite a while since last we met. As you know, I am here on official business, by order of the King. While I do wish to see you again, there are certain tasks that I must see to before then. I will see to it that upon completion, I find the time to go out into the city and visit you again. It is in my hopes that I will be able to, as our mission is quite serious, and while it requires us to stay within the castle, I have trust in my guild-mates that they will be able to do what is needed to be done while I alone am away. I've had many an adventure since last we spoke, and I'd like to hear how you've been as well.
Signed
your old apprentice, Orlando
He then folds the paper, and hands it to the young page. "Please, if you could, deliver this to the man who sent me the letter. It's very important to me that you do this."He then gives the page another smile, and gestures for him to go, then closing the door behind him. "Oh, old Tal'Digron, you old coot, It's been a while..." | |
