| Sigh... Head injuries. They're not fun.
Clarence remains seated until Geoffrey shows up
Is there anything to drink?

| Laisha hands Clarence a small flask.
Before you ask, it's filled with water.
[So this can be wrapped up quickly, once Geoffrey arrives to return Clarence to the Clarion Hall, I just want to take a short look in the general vicinity for potential hiding spots and get some initial reports from the patrol currently deployed in the area.]

| With his escort, Clarence safely limps to the Clarion Hall with little to say other than, Good luck Laisha!
On his way, he would speak to Geoffrey from time to time
Have you ever taken the time to enjoy a sip of just water? It REALLY tastes really good, you know

| The rangers eventually return, but can bring no news about the two shady figures. They have simply vanished. In this poor part of the city, the alleys are narrow and crooked, many of the buildings are rundown, others entirely deserted. Every decent man would suspect almost all of them of harbouring some sort of dirty secret.
While you think about your next move, the curfew bell sounds in the distance.

| Riko walks into town. His bow is slung around his back and his family silvered sword at his hip. The crowd swallows him as he heads northeast. He detaches for a split second and takes out a copy of his mission. - Iskar wrote:
- You see, most of us are occupied with solving the situation in Laria. Unknown assassins tried to kill the duke but luckily failed. Unfortunately they used Noldor arrows and now people are suspecting the Noldor to be behind this all. Moreover a knight of the Ebony Gauntlet has been found murdered in the alleyways of Laria's less fortunate district, so a detachment of them has taken up camp outside the city walls. We need to solve both mysteries in order to disprove the false accusations against the Noldor and get rid of those Gauntlet knights near our headquarter. You could assist me in coordinating our troops in Laria and investigating about the assassins.
Rikolaris sighs bitterly and starts asking fellow rangers questions about the Noldor arrows and who else has been investigating it.

| I've heard the Lord Constable wanted to talk to you, said one of the rangers. Seems he wanted to give you further instructions on the matter. You can usually find him in the officer's assembly room upstairs.
He pointed to the large stairways leading upstairs from the main hall. Rikolaris thanked him and went to talk to Iskar again.
Iskar was already waiting for him. Ah, there you are again. I wanted to tell you what progress we have made until now before you start with the actual investigations.
First of all we want to find out where the assassins, whoever they might be, got the Noldor arrows from. Quigfen is the only one who sells them officially, but the list of customers he provided us with gave only little information. Most customers were unsuspicious or bought less arrows than were used in the assault. The only other way to get Noldor arrows is via the black market, that is via the Red Brotherhood of Laria that controls the former. We have contacted them but are still waiting for word from them whether they have found out anything useful.
However, the assault on the duke was not the only grave thing to happen. At the parade that took place yesterday the assassins obviously disguised as members of the duke's own soldiers and caused great turmoil by shooting at the crowd, shouting 'Assassins!' themselves. We believe they wanted to increase insecurity among the population. We contacted the merchant guild and the temple of Eunomia Stabilitis to help calm down the populace. On the other hand these actions show that the assassins are still in town. As we are guarding the gates and patrolling in and around town with almost 100 men in total we believe the assassins won't be able to leave town in the near future without being caught. So we have to search the city for their hideout. Lady Laisha and some of our men have already investigated the sewers but found them empty.
The duke's own court is divided upon the whole matter. Some believe that the Noldor are in fact behind this while others support our view and others again are undecided and prefer to wait for further developments. I will have dinner tonight with the leading three nobles that support our view and hope to get some more information about the situation in court from them.
Aldric of Marleons has departed for the Noldor castle Elacrai with his squad and the duke's youngest son Lord Quentin in order to ask the Noldor about anything they might know about the matter at hand.
As it is already getting late, there is not much you could still do today, so I suggest you join us at the dinner table and get known to the three lords.
Tomorrow you can then start investigating on your own, or I can give you a task to follow until you come up with some ideas of yourself.
[OOC: Have a look at the thread labelled "IC conversation - Trouble in the East". The latest post always has a summary of what is currently going on. I also suggest having a look at the map of Laria in the main board ("Deloria Castle") to get a better picture of what the city looks like. This roleplay day will already finish tomorrow, so there's not really much more to be done now, as we're mainly waiting for the event host's reply to our actions, so we can plan our next moves. With the new information we then get there will certainly be something promising for your character to do.]

He smiles and walks away.
