| Yes..
It would be a lot easier to have the legion in the map as well, not just leave them out. DUH??

| Unless anyone specifically opposes it, I'll treat Immortals as having Empire Broadsword, Empire Immortal Shield, Zweihander and a bag of Throwing Spears. | |

| They should have the same stats as the Legion's Legionnaires, but with the option to equip their 2handers for -1 Armour, +1 Melee. | |

| You weren't in the last event, so you probably don't know :3
Legion ALWAYS has around fifty spare horses with them(plus the horses owned by the soldiers) when they go to a military trip. This was found useful after the battle of Storm Cliffs.
They are a part of the legion.

| When MM left, this RP lost a lot of it's "RP-ness".
Now it's more metagame and less roleplay... i dislike this very much. This was supposed to just fill the timeline between POP3 and POP4, not go into this..

| Well now, let's talk about the sense and purpose of the meta-game while we're at it:
I understand there have been a lot of new rules lately regarding troops, battles, economy, etc pp. What do we need them for?
At first sight they might look like the complicated and arbitrary product of a gamemaster's mind, but in fact they're the complete opposite: Their purpose is to create some kind of virtual Pendor reality, a reliable substrate, on which we can develop the roleplay that is not completely at whim or will of the event host. Of course you might say, that you don't need this background to do some roleplay, but the roleplay we want to do spans 20 years and needs a lot of continuity to work. Furthermore the basic concept here is "actions have consequences" and that is just the most captivating thing about the RP: Your actions can actually change things in Pendor instead of just causing the event host to move on with the current action. But to reliably determine the outcome of actions without endless discussions (you have seen this in our first major event, where MM had illogical things happen or where we discussed about the efficiency of the catapults) we need proper rules that everyone can refer to, be they hosts or players.
I hope that makes it a bit clearer why we need these rules. In fact, no one is keeping you from doing RP and that is what keeps this whole thing alive, but remember you're not just playing a lone-wolf adventurer, but one of Pendor's most powerful commanders who is responsible for hundreds of soldiers, so your decisions in the RP are necessarily also of a tactical nature and not exclusively personal RP.

| You don't have to be constrained by the rules. Outside those burdensome numbers there are countless things we still can do.
Take us silvermists, for example: we developed a whole symbology and meaning for our recently created order's flag, banner and uniform. The legion also doesn't have one so far, so you could also do something like that.
We also raised an army of halberdiers, something, quite unexpected for silvermists as of pop 3.4. We also received a special feat some time back. This was done exclusively by way of RP - no numbers, no rules, just convincing storytelling.
Another good example: Theo assembled a group of knights who roam around and help the commoners. We need a huge amoung of RP for that, and we have players from different orders doing that. Mordred even opened a new event thread and, please note, this has no influence in the metagame - we do it only for the sake of the RP.
The dawn is currently fighting itself. This shouldnt necessarily be so: if they wished, I think they could join their fanactic rebels and change the whole nature of their order.
So, you see, nothing stops you of turning the legionnaires into a heavy cavalry troop like the eventide, or making them focus on crossbows instead of javelins, or joining the snake cult and steamrolling pendor. The rules are there only to ensure the gms that, if you do these things, they can quantify it and provide a fair outcome for everyone involved.

Yeah, it's always fun to finally play a character that actually has some authority of his own. I once got the opportunity to play Duke Rafiq of Torbah in a situation where he was really, really angry. That was some damn good fun.

| Did you curb-stomp Eventides verbally? But yeah it's fun to play a character that can give verbal berating to nearly anyone without a care. That and the fact that he's badass.
And Iskar, 1001 messages.
