See 0:18. Aren't you already dead when you get into melee range?

| I have tracker blocker but it doesn't work for facebook. I use fbook in different languages for practice, but, even when I'm not logged in, I enter the news homepage and there's the facebook side bar: "Vind ik leuk". I mean, how does it know which language I'm using if I'm unlogged? - Quote :

Only when someone touches us! That's why we got mad acrobatic skillz and run faster than anyone else in Pendor (true! it's an order trait!). @ Ana and others: what have you heard about the Dwemer? (no, I won't go throught 5000+ forum pages for that). If CHIM was interpreted as a break of the forth wall, could the Dwemer disappearence be interpreted as them coming to our world? They do look like industrious Earthlings. That they left Mundus seems to be agreed, though. Reading throught the lore I remembered how the first Nerevar was an ass.

| The awesomeness of Dwemer as confirmed by their creator: - Spoiler:
Do you recall Numidium? It was the first version of the giant statue around Lorkhan's heart in Morrowind. The Dwemer were attempting to create a god for themselves using the Heart to power it. They were also a telepathically connected race, which is how they all disappeared at once. They attempted to become that god... when Kagrenac (sp?) fiddled with the Heart at the last moment, he succeeded. The Dwemer became the Golden Skin of Numidium... however something went wrong and basically, 'no one flipped the switch of this new god from off to on.' There is speculation that the Corpus-infected Dwemer you meet at Diveth Fyr's home was intended to be the person to flip that switch, but I've not seen MK comment on that one.
As for what happened to Numidium... Vivec gave it to Tiber Septim after they concluded their deal to leave Morrowind to the Tribunal but allow the Empire to officially claim it and such. Tiber, being an echo of Akatosh, powered it with the heart of Zurin Arctus, who became known as the Underking afterwards. Tiber used his giant stompy robot to conquer the rest of Tamriel, but ultimately Numidium was destroyed after the dragonbreak that ended the game of Daggerfall.
There are supposedly new secrets coming out in the next Skyrim DLC... but I do not have faith that they will capture it as well as MK has in the past. >.>

| As much as I don't like it, it makes sense. I recall reading that "A Dwemer of eight can build a golem, but eight Dwemeri can become one". So it actually makes sense that their whole race somehow (almost) became a huge godlike golem. | |

| They did become a godlike golem. They just neglected the final step that would have let them actually do something. | |

| There was a lot of speculation about their potential to return, but MK crushed most of it when he discussed the Landfall event of Morrowind.
I can't recall his exact words but it was something about being disappointed that so much of Morrowind remained, as he wanted no survivers. He and I are in agreement that a story is much better when there is a final end to the character(s). As sad as I am when a beloved character meets their fate, it is much nicer to have that final closure.

| I'm still not sure of what to think about that.
I don't think they'll ever come back. They had an elder scroll super hidden inside a huge underground city. That is a rather big secret. If something about them were going to be uncovered, I doubt that it could possibly be better hidden than an elder scroll. There are very few secrets more precious than that.

| Read the Love Letter of the 5th Era.
There are some other old MK threads I'll try to hunt down for you. The ultimate secret is not so much the scrolls themselves, but how to preserve yourself through each kalpa.

| I remember you talked about that. I'm going to read it right now before going to bed.
But an elder scroll is still a big thing!

I thought the Dwemer had almost no real involvement in Skyrim? Wasnt it just Resdayn and Hammerfell they occupied? I havent played Skyrim yet though so I could be very mistaken.

They have been using the Dwemer in Skyrim as an explanation for the existance of Snow elves. Dwemer lore in Skyrim is at times bit weird. But you have the Blackreach, an immense ruined underground dwemer world (with farms, roads, meeting halls, and even a replica of the sun) But as I said, I doubt that we'll be getting more than that. Dwemer are mysterious and will probably remain so.

They were the first Mer to be killed off by the invading Nordic peoples. The Dwemer simply enslaved them after their defeat, as the Dwemer already lived underground (like Dwarves, you know!).

| I've just been reading up about slenderman, the rake and the seed eater and i had a brilliant thought! Why not risk everyones sanity and make a thread in the Tavern about folklore ghost tales of pendor! Make them up with first hand accounts, ancient scroll with monks fevered writings, mutilated knights found by the wayside and such like. Who needs sleep!? | |

A (should be uneducated) blacksmith is capable of understanding siege engines, math, irrigation and is oddly literate. Also, for some reason no one on his estate thought of digging a new well until he suggested it. >.>
