It appears that the most common first letter of a knight's name is 'A' - Azrael, Aranor, Aodh, and probably half a dozen more I don't really want to look for at the moment.

Oh, and quite a few of the higher nobles are also in that position.

I think it may be that, when trying to think of a pseudo-medieval name, 'A' is a much easier starting point than most other letters. Thus, everyone ends up using it (as I have several times when creating characters in several games, and for Sir Anvor).
