| I just thought of something...why don't we have an official thread devoted to people announcing absences? That way they don't get buried in this thread and we don't get half a dozen threads for the same purpose. | |

| I've recently been giving age of mythology another playthrough, and I'm just wondering, has anyone else played this game? It is without a doubt one of my favourite games of all time, and astoundingly, not only has it the best story ever in an RTS, but one of the best stories ever in a game. Am I alone in this? | |

| I wouldn't say one of the best stories ever but certainly for an RTS. Easily one of my favorite RTs of all time. | |

| It does have one of the best ever stories, there is never a point where any of the characters did something against there motivations, the villain was threatoning, dangerous but an intense coolness, just like scar from lion king. There were twists turns, it was quite unexpected in parts, i'd go on but my cat is begging for attention | |

Does Dragon Age mean anything to you? EASILY better storyline with much more complex characters and other details. Or perhaps "the Witcher" -series? EASILY better storyline etc. again. Basically any RPG has a better storyline.

| Morrowind wins for best story, but I'm probably beating a dead horse at this point. Daggerfall was an amazing RPG, but it's tough to play it now. It's so dated at this point not just in graphics, but the game philosophy. It's MASSIVE. They randomly generate most of the map to keep it fun, and it's just huge. IIRC, it takes two weeks RL time to just walk from one end to the other. Fortunately there are lots of ways to fast travel. There are sooo many factions to join. Best of all, it's free now. | |

| Few games to plug here for storylines:
Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines The Longest Journey/Dreamfall Psychonauts Braid Freespace 1 & 2 (2 has one of the best endings ever)
There are a few games that have made me... quite upset... but I don't remember which ones they were, unfortunately.

| I still think Warcraft I-II, Baldur's Gate, and Chrono Trigger had great storylines. Maybe that's because I didn't have the means for playing newer games.
Sadly, DrSane, I've never played Age of Mythology. Now I know that I should.

| Happy Birthday Laisha! Though we do have a few more hours for Americans and our disowned cousins the Canadians. Vampire the Masquerade is one of those rare games that suffers from significant flaws, yet has such well-developed greatness that you can almost forget about the flaws. I'm really looking forward to the MMO of World of Darkness., even if it will probably be more for 'game mechanics' RPers than pure lore RPers. Even though my first character died at the end, it was AMAZING! If anyone hasn't played it yet, do so! I felt like it needed just a bit of Grand Theft Auto mixed in to make up for the other flaws. Once the MMO comes, I'm soooo torn between Tzimice ande Tremere. If they somehow manage to fail both of those, I'll be torn between Ventrue and the always-great-for-RP Malkavian. Stop Sign, you've made a powerful enemy! (If you don't get that reference, you've all the more reason to play it!) | |
