Lucius' cry was met out with surprise, and it was the timely emergence of the Silvermists that saved him from being turned into a pin-cushion. After that it didn't take long for the nearby legionnaires to recognize their second-in-command. The brigadier and Sir Jareth were the ones to greet the new arrival first, while Sir Mitchell was busy with Kyros Dux.

"Lucius, I can't believe you are here." A big smile appeared on Jareths face as he greeted him."What is happening outside of the walls?"

Many more questions appeared in his mind but there wasn't enough time right now. His view glanced over to the Barracks and to yard in front of it.

The barracks were still far away, but you don't notice anyone in the yard.

Jareth listened closely to Lucius' talk. It was clear what needs to be done. He looked back to Lord Kyros and Sir Mitchell talking. Did they listen to what he just said?

"Lord Kyros, Sir Mitchell we know where their leader is. Are you ready to move."

Sir Jareth was cut off mid-sentence by Sir Mitchell.

"Immortals, march! We take to the park!"

No one got a chance to talk to him as he efficiently led the Immortals to the position of flank attack. Kyros Dux, however was listening.

"So, Jareth. Where is this commander of theirs?"

While his voice was calm, there was the small undertune, and promise of the commander meetiing a gruesome death. He had apparently chosen to ignore Lucius for now.

Kyros Dux narrowd his eyes behind the visor.

"Hmm, Lucius wasn't it. Do not interrupt, if you don't mind."

He then sighs.

"But since you answered what I wanted to know, there is no point in staying here. Get the Shadow Legion Moving centurions, we are moving."

"Shields up. Follow me."

Without a further glance at Kyros and Lucius he started moving again towards the North Gate.

"We are going to engage their leader. If you can, get him alive. He is worth more if he can answer some questions."

The group continues marching toward the barracks arriving there safely. There the column is greeted by the sight that Lucius had seen at the western gate. The streets were, however, somewhat cleaner than there. Perhaps this was due to the lack of civilian buildings in the area, perhaps the occupiers had been busy elsewhere.

Then a bolt flies from the window of the barracks. It hits the shield of a legionnaire, fortunately. Suddenly, the party awakens to the fact that they are under fire.

"Form a Shieldwall. 10 to the left 10 to the right." Jareth shouted without hesitation. He then joined the wall in the middle, only his eyes showing above the rim of his shield.

"Rangers get behind the shields and take out anyone who shows himself in those windows. Lord Kyros we advance, get your men behind our shields and stay low."

Jareth started slowly walking towards the big building. His eyes always on the windows. Ready to give the order to halt if anyone shows himself in the windows.

Kyros Dux brandished his own shield.

"It will be difficult to get all the men inside. But 9 Legionnaires and 20 retainers won't do...

It took a single second for him to reach the conclusion.

"25 knights and 80 Legionnaires with me. The rest of you, secure the position for the Silvermists!

It seemed that the enemy had noticed the Silvermists and was avoiding appearing in the windows. This, however, meant that the loyalists would meet heavily organized resistance on their quest.


OOC: 8 legionnaires + Lucius



Eli and Finn


The three retainers formed the front rank, holding their shields nervously. The other three, actual Legionnaires, had a firm grip on their Javelins, ready to unleash pain upon the enemies.

The formation charges through the door. The spartanly decorated mess hall is well-lit and you see a group of dozen or so retainers and legionnaires sitting around. Your arrival took them by surprise. While no javelins were thrown yet, it wouldn't take longer than a second if the group took up weapons. For now, they were practically helpless.

Jareth sees the troops of Lord Kyros moving, wondering where they are going.

"Rangers keep an eye on the windows, we dont want to be surprised. Legionaires follow me."

Jareth swings his men around to the left towards the entrance.

"Split up, one half to the left the others stay with me."

The Legionaires take up position to the sides of the door and Jareth starts listening closely and tries to catch a glimpse of what is going on inside through a crack in the wood.

Eli and Finn:

The javelin of Finn catches on of the Legionnaires in the leg, with a scream of pain he falls to the ground. Two of the other legionnaires hit a single retainer who couldn't even send noise before falling down. The third javelin hit a table. The remaining warriors scramble for their weapons and are desperate to form a line.


Jareth:

"I'll be leading another charge in through the door further away. Let none of these traitors escape." Kyros briefly mentions before rushing off.

Meanwhile, Jareth doesn't see anything but people are clearly moving inside if the sound of armour clanking is any indication.

Jareth sees Sir Kyros disappearing behind a corner. He turns around to the Brigadier.

"Give the Signal for Sir Mitchell to get his men here."

He then raises his shield and signals his men to do the same. He slowly walks over to the door handle and starts slowly opening it.

Jareth:

The door opens slowly with a creak. Each man is holding their shield in case of the assumed ambush.

Desrvedly so, for once the door opens, several javelins attach themselves to the shields with great power. A small look reveals a smal regiment of Shadow Legion troops.

Although the men were more focused on the people in front of them, they could hear the voice of a unknown bird.


Eli and Finn:

The natural cover of tables and stools prevent you from hitting them with javelins. However, the formation fails to form due to this. Your me start to push forward with their swords ready.

Finn doesn't reach the soldier yet.

After he heard the the Javelins crushing into shields he quickly looked around to see if anyone was hit. He again got close to the opening in the Door and shouted to the men inside.

"We are members of the true Shadow Legion under command of Marcus Caldius Merula, we have you surrounded so put down your weapons and we won't harm you."

There was no point in wasting more lives than necessary. He hoped they would listen to him at least long enough for Lord Kyros to surprise them from the side.

Jareth:

To Jareth's relief, no one was hit. His question also received an answer.

"That pig, Marcus? Ha, filthy bastard that one! These people are bonkers, kill them."

Behind the formation, a band of crossbowmen rise, and take aim. The numbers are also clearly against Jareth.


*OOC: You ordered your troops to split up, so I assume Jareth and Lucius both lead 4 legionnaires and 10 retainers.


Lucius:

Lucius had decided to follow Jareth's decision, he was clearly more aware of the situation here. In front of him, the forces led by Kyros start storming the barracks, no room there. However, the thinning mass of soldiers reveals the looming door of the gate control.


Eli and Finn:

Finn doesn't recognize the Legionnaire but judging from his insignia, he is a high-ranking member. The inspection gtakes a secong of his attention. Enough for the legionnaire to start charging.

Finn's fellow legionnaires are closing in to the enemies. There is no sign of Eli yet.
