How much for a good quality bow and shield?

Since your character is already a knight you can consider him having weapons of quality superior to those used by the file and rank. The prices above are prices per man for upgrades for levies.

Thats what its for. I've got 10 men to get equipment for including bows and shields so I need the prices for a good quality bow and shield to work out how much it will cost.

Well, the armouries do have a basic supply of short bows and basic arrows to supply the levies with. If you want better bows and ammunition:
Nomad bow 20 gold
Longbow 40 gold (cannot be used by mounted units unless they get off their horses for shooting)
Barbed arrows 20 gold
Bodkin arrows 30 gold
D'Shar arrows 40 gold

The armouries are also considered to have the basic plain board or kite shields for the levies. Basically board shields are more defensive and cumbersome, kite shields somewhat lighter but with less protection.
Higher quality shields would be shields with reinforced leather cover (30 gold) and oakwood shields (60 gold).

This is gonna cost me lol. I better get to making some money. I'm guessing men only have the 4 weapon slots?

Yeah, I'd say so. You could force more equipment on them but it would slow them down and exhaust them over time. You yourself have only 150 gold currently. The baronet of Rebache has his 3000 and all the landed knights have 800 each. I doubt you'd be the one paying for the equipment of the baronet's levies.

Since we are on the subject of equipment what are the options for crossbows and polearms?

Sarleon does not have a crossbow tradition so you'd need to purchase those.

20 gold for light crossbows (also on horseback)
50 gold for crossbows, 70 for heavy ones.

Basic polearms are spears. Polehammers (40 gold) and halberds (70 gold) can be bought.

EDIT: Regulars can use halberds, since Sarleon does have the appropriate background, but militia are not skilled enough and can use polehammers at best, same goes for longbows and nomad bows.

Hey how do I upgrade militia to regulars?

Is it just a certain period of training or do I need to do something else with them as well?

Regulars are preofessional soldiers, militia are not. There's a pretty big dofference and you don't train a man over night. I would think you could improve the militia but not get an entire band of regulars.

Well it's only 5 militia I need to upgrade, I have 10 men plus my squire 5 militia 5 regulars but militia will make horrible mounted archers so I need to upgrade them to regulars as well as kitting them out.

I ain't gonna try to upgrade the whole army thats somebody elses problem .

Militia stay militia. You can only upgrade their equipment. Also, I think the soldiers you speak of are part of the baronet's levies so it's his task to pay for their equipment.

No, you don't. You are a free knight, you have a squire and that's it. Or did I miss something?

He does not have troops of his own (except his squire) but the baronet gave him 5 militia and 5 regulars to train as archers.

My baron gave me 10 men to command and do whatever I want with.

So I have them plus my squire and since I'm meant to lead the archers and me and my squire are mounted I'm gonna get them all mounted as well so I can out run and run circles around most enemy forces if it comes to a fight.

Have fun beggaring the baronet for the 800+ gold needed to buy 10 horses.

I don't intend to charge him for anything at all yet I'm gonna try to make money myself first to cover it.

For now his money will be better spent on the adventurers hopefully.

Theres ways to make money in this just need a little bit of luck to get me started.

How much it will cost to turn my 2 Wardens into something similar to Adventurers or Knights? I mean at least Equipment wise.

Kelredan no doubt has landed knights in its area. Since these would have to be NPCs, should they be left out, or should we possibly involve them in our plotting?

Does the sheriff actually have influence with the knights of the lion?
That is a little strong when he already has one of the strongest personal armies and the lions are strongest then any unit any of us have.

No, he just has influence with a group of bandits calling themselves Knights of the Lion - while it's possible that one or two are impoverished ex-Order members, they're not equipped as knights and really are no more than common bandits under a false name.

Good lol, fighting real knights of the lion was going to be a little messy, although thniking about it, it would of given us some nice armor .
I wonder what would happen if I sent a message to the real knights and told them what was going on here .
Something tells me they'll be rather unhappy that bandits are ruining their name.

The knights of the lion do not exist right now in pendor. They died to the last (almost) man in the siege of sarleon.

Mesor you can find more info about them in my character description above . And considering we already are discussing it, i guess i can use them to attack other villages for the right price? of course at the end of the day they are under direct control of GM, who knows maybe they will turn on Olaf at some point.
